ran Hutchinson currently serves as Software/Systems Architect and Product Manager at InterSystems with a focus on driving global product strategy and development in the areas of XTP, CEP, Java, C++, .NET, and Distributed Computing. Applying InterSystems technology to solve complex problems, Iran’s work has an emphasis on Financial Services from risk management to retail banking. Prior to joining InterSystems, Iran held lead roles in enterprise architecture and development in many companies such as IBM, where he led the development strategy for enterprise integration and evolution of global projects using: JavaEE5, Distributed Computing, CICS, Flex, SOA and Web Services He thinks the open sourcing of standards and technologies, such as Java, in concert with proprietary technologies will yield a bright future in distributed as well as high performance computing. When not on an airplane you can find Iran outside enjoying nature via gardening, biking, fishing, etc. There is generally, a computer (or pen/pad) nearby as software design doesn’t stop simply because you leave the desk or it could just be a convenient excuse to have Internet access.
