Description: With a lot of attention given to alternative languages and
technologies in the web 2.0 space, many people forget how well Java
integrates here as well.

In this presentation, Alexis will discuss how Java plays a key role in
building and defining next generation  Internet services. He'll talk
about how Java is being used to enhance SOA-based systems
with support for REST-based services, SIP services for VOIP communications,
and the enhancement and integration of
dynamic languages and alternative frameworks. From reliable event
processing, mashups, one-click deployment from the NetBeans IDE, to
rich media and Internet application development, Java continues to be
at the center of it all.

Not only will Alexis talk about Java
standards (such as Java EE 6) and software in this space (such as the
Glassfish suite), he'll back up everything he says with some
interesting demos you can work with on your own as well.
